SWIMMING.
A meeting of the Papanui Carnival Committee y.as held on Saturday evening when officials were appointed lor the carnival to be held next Saturday. The Programme Committee reported that 12 items had been arranged, including 100 yards breast stroke, 100 yards inter-club, relay, and diving. Mr Geo. Witty, M.P., has been asked to open the carnival, which is in aid of the C.D.C. returned soldiers' fund. A letter was received from the secretary of the Canterbury Centre, stating that members of the executive would be present to assist in making the carnival a success.
