FOOTBALL.
CANTERBURY RUGBY LEAGUE. A filial meeting of last season's executive was held on Saturday evening, Mr A. E. Hooper presiding. The delegates peresent were: Messrs 11. Garrard, J. Stevens, A. Morris, F. Ayling, J. Underwood, A. R. Brunsden, L. J. Mullaney, and W. Moyle. It was decided to hold the annual general meeting of the league on Saturday, April 1. It was decided to forward letters of sympathy to Mr L. Simpson and Mr E. Smith. The Federal Club 'a application for a ground at St. Alban's Parle was granted. SYDENHAM EUGBY LEAGUE CLUB. At the annual meeting of the above club, Mr W. J. Putnam presided, and there was a fair attendance of the junior players. The fifth annual report and balanc.osheet disclosed a small surplus for the past season. The president commended the committee for attaining a success under trying circumstances. The club was represented in the reinforcements by 45 players. Though the club had not been successful in gaining premiership honours on the field, each of the three teams had fulfilled its fixtures with credit. It was stated that Mr W. Brunsden was going into camp. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mr L. Simpson, who was absent through ill-health. The following officials were elected for the coming season.—President, Mr W. J. Putnam; vice-presidents, Messrs G. Everett, Geo. Hobbs, W. J. Grigsby, A. Smith, J. Spence, K. Hunter, E. McKeon, F. D. Wilson, W. Campbell, J. Smythe, D. Buchanan, S. Duffy; club captain, Mr E. Gasion; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. Poore; general committee, Messrs F. Matthews, W. King, C. B. Bourne, 0. Rowe, F. Hooper, F. Foster, G. Minifie, J. Mallard, K.'johnstone, T. King, L. Drury, W. Lyes, W. Thornton, W. Ayling, and R. McCaw; delegates to centre, Messrs E. Gasson, F. Ayling, W. Smyth; auditor, Mr McKeon. A vote of thanks and appreciation was recorded to the president and Mr Brunsden for their past services.
