REVOLT IN PERU.
WIDESPREAD FIGHTING. P'l Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. BUENOS AYRES, March 10. Peru is aflame with rebellion. Information smuggled through to evade censorship gave details of fighting around Lima, Cruzes, Callao, and Arequippa. Many were killed and wounded. A son of Admiral Gaus, of the Peruvian navy, was assassinated. The Peruvian warships were dismantled to prevent their being seized by the rebels. The Government house at Lima is surrounded by troops. It is predicted that the President will resign. The cause of the outbreak is obscure.
[The President of Peru is I)r Jose Pardo, who assumed office last August. His term expires in 101!). The Peruvian Navy consists of eight ships, of which two cruisers built in ISOG are the most modern.]
