SEVEN LASCARS KILLED. Rcuter's Telegrams. (Received February 12, 1.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 11. The Mantola's doctor stales that a violent explosion killed seven lascars. There was excellent order. Everyone immediately got into the boats except the captain, the chief engineer and the wireless operator, who remained to repair the wireless plant. After an hour and a-half distress calls were sent out. Immediately the submarine, which had evidently been lying in the haze a couple of miles off, began shelling the Mantola and the boats. Nobody was htnt. Sighting a vessel on the horizon, the submarine submerged, and the crew of the Man tola was picked up. The ship sank in the evening.
