THE WATERSIDERS.
WELLINGTON IDLE, ACTION BY GOVERNMENT. A NEW DEVELOPMENT. [Special to The Sun,] WELLINGTON, February 12. The wharves were almost idle to-day, the only labour engaged being for the Government service and the relief ship Aurora, which is discharging its stores and collections. It is understood that the Government intended to lake control of the wharves to-day under the new war regulations, but the postponement of the Conciliation Council proceedings at the instance of the union, which has decided to be represented, may delay action. Inquiries have been made throughout the district for waterside labour.
