Sergeant-Major William Frost, late of the New Zealand Infantry, has been awarded the French Croix de Guerre, and 140 New Zealanders have been awarded the Military Medal. STEEN REBUKES. Indignation is expressed by all political parties at the Northcliffc Press for its personal abuse of members of flic Asquith Government. The "Observer" says:—"The scurrilous abuse which has been poured on them is resented by many staunch patriots." The "Sunday Times" says:—"We prefer lo rcmbcr the dignity with which Mr Asquith represented the nation, the loftiness of his public life, and i:. -'eat services for which the Empire owes him gratitude, rather than to sling the garbage of the gutter at a great patriot."
