The Chamber, by 376 votes to 45, expressed confidence in the Government. The Prime Minister (Signor Boselli) demanded the vote, in order to reaffirm Italy's united front. Signor Boselli said that the country had the. fullest confidence in the Allies, and was irrevocably determined to remain in cordial friendship with them till final victory was secured. A resolution was adopted, expressing detestation of the Belgian deportations. RUSSIA WANTS REAL WORKING GOVERNMENT TO ELIMINATE CLANDESTINE INFLUENCE. Renter's Telegrams. The Council of Empire carried a resolution urging the destruction of clandestine influences in affairs of State, and the formation of a real working Government, united by a welldefined programme, relying on the confidence and goodwill of the country, and consequently capable of collaboration with the Legislature, with a view to a powerful national effort for the final defeat of the enemy. i BRITISH PEOPLE TO MAKE SACRIFICES. Mr Lloyd George's war policy will impose immediate sacrifices on the people. They will include further regulations for the control of food and drink, the curtailment of luxuries, the possible raising of the military age, or the partial mobilisation of the civil population for war work, releasing for service younger men employed in exempted trades.
