PIONEER MOTOR CLUB.
SATURDAY'S TRIALS. The Pioneer Motor Club's singlegeared trial ami petrol consumption test was a highly successful fixture. All the competitors, with the exception of Mallard, arrived at the finishing point. Hinds withdrew after being timed in. The following is the order in which the first seven machines arrived:—A. B. L. Smith, F. Ruck, C. Bonnington, J. B. Brown, F. Haworth, A. Woodman, and E. F. C. Hinds.
Smith arrived at 4.32, having started at 1.53. There were no serious spills, and only one or two dismounts. The bad curve at, the top of the Summit Hill was the most difficult part of the route. The points in connection with the petrol consumption test have yet to be worked out. = ,
