GHRISTCHURCH BOY SCOUTS.

A parade of the city and suburban troops of Boy Scouts was held on Saturday afternoon. The troops assembled at Latimer Square at half-past two, and were inspected by Colonel Cossgrove, V.D. The parade state was not nearly as large as was expected, owing probably to various cricket and other fixtures. Scouts should be made to realise that these fixed parades are compulsory, and if they arc unable to attend, an apology should be sent to the Scoutmaster in good time.

The following was the parade state:— Merivale 67 Scouts and one officer; Sydenham, .'!4 and two officers; Avonside, li-l and one officer; St. Michael's, 24 and one officer; Oxford Terrace, 17 and two officers; Fendalton, 17; Linwood, 10 and one officer; Cashmere, .11 and one officer; St. Luke's, 10; Spreydon, '.) and one officer; total, 239 ai C. 10 officers. The troops were practise.i in Ihe S'ouis' march past, and the circular rally, and then, headed by the St. Michael's and Sydenham Hands, they marched to Hagley Park, where Scout games were indulged in till 5 p.m. On Sunday morning the Merivale and Avonsido troops, under Scoutmasters ('ollins and Brown, attended the Merivale Church. Merivale had 50 on parade, and Avonside .'<2. The Rev. P. Haggitt delivered ■ a very impressive address on the text "Search the Scriptures."
