MESSAGE FROM MR MASSEY. Presti Association I WELLINGTON, December 9. 1 I lie following telegram has been i received from the lion. W. F. Mas- ; sey, by the Acting-Prime Minister, ! (Hon. J. Allen) dated December 7, I 11)16:—"I have now had an opporI (unity of meeting British citizens in j England, Scotland and Ireland, and i everywhere I have heard the strongI est expressions of appreciation of i whal New Zealand has done in asI sisting the Empire throughout the ! present war. Since my arrival in j England I have not heard ;i single discordant note rcarding the DoI minion's action. From his Majesty the King down to the humblest citizen, all are loud in their praise of the military capacity of New Zealand soldiers and of their splendid behaviour while on leave. The highest Imperial officers speak in terms of unstinted praise of our soldiers at I the front. The war mav not end as ; soon as we expected, but I am confiI dent there will be no weakening on the part of New Zealanders."
