TAI TAPU.

A cricket match was played at Halswell between teams from the Halswell and Tai Tapu Schools. The game resulted in a win for Tai Tapu by 19 runs. Messrs Guiney and Cox acted as umpires. The boys were afterwards entertained at afternoon tea bv the ladies.
The anniversary services of the Tai Tapu Wesleyan Methodist Sunday School were conducted in the morning and afternoon by the Rev. Mr Lee, and in the evening by the Rev. B. Meston. Large congregations were present on each occasion, and the children, under .Mr i'eryman, sang special hymns. On Tuesday evening the annual tea was he),l, when a large number attended, and the meeting afterwards was presided over by the Rev. Mr Metson. A programme of vocal items, assisted by an orchestra, and recitations were given by the children. The annual report showed that the financial position was satisfactory, and a number of special prizes were awarded. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the teachers, and to Miss Lily Forbes, who marked the tablets. Mr H. E. I'eryman (superintendent) responded.
