HALSWELL.
The Hnlswell Patriotic Committee held its monthly meeting in the schoolroom on Tuesday evening last, Mr I'aterson presiding. Letters wore read from (lie Minister of Internal Affairs and from Miss Cole tiled Cross Depot). It was agreed to donate .">/• per month towards Hospital Comforts for our wounded, returned and abroad; anything given above that amount, to be forwarded on by treasurer. It was decided to hold a conceit on December 21, and to ask Colonel Rhodes to unveil the honours boar.l, and Mn Firth's party to entertain on that date; the ladies of the committee to provide refreshments for the performers.
