AN OBJECT LESSON.

Messages received via Amsterdam show that plans for an increased concentration of troops in Rumania are being hurried forward. Germany is determined that the campaign shall serve as an object lesson to the neutral world of her invincibility. Germany calculates that she will be able to transform Rumania into a second Belgium. As a result of the new industrial conscription, by which the Germans hope to obtain millions of the Rumanian campaign will be continued throughout the winter. A RUMANIAN MESSAGE. The Rumanian communique reports that there were enemy attempts to disembark troops near Zimnitza, on the Danube, 45 miles south of Bucharest. In Western Wallachia the Ruman- < ians further retired before superior forces. In Dobrudja the Russians and Rumanians advanced their whole front, especially in the centre and left wing.
