THE URGENT NEEDS. CASE OF SLING CAMP. Prett Atnodation WELLINGTON, November 0. The Y.M.C.A. commissioners in England have cabled to the National Committee as follows:—"Please cable at once 115,000, in addition to the £4OOO in band, to cover the building and equipment requirements, as follow:—For France, 1G0O0; Sling Training Camp, £5000; Gosford Camp, £1000; Hornchurch Camp, £2000; Brockenhurst village, £2OOOI Brockenhurst Hospital, £1000; Shakespeare Hut, for bedrooms and necessary work in progress urgently needed, 12000. We are visiting France between the 4th and the 13th inst., and have already arranged for four J buildings there, and authorised six other portable huts in the New Zea- _ land division area, after consultation with General Russell. The plans for England have been cordially approved by General Richardson. There is a tremendous need for this winter. Sling Camp has 5000 men and only one institute. There is great need here. The weather is colder and wetter, and this camp is farther from a large centre. Comforts for men in the fighting area will require a minimum of £IOOO monthly. Get all the money you can for trench comforts, and send quickly."
