ROMAN CATHOLIC CONGRESS.
The congress will take place at the Colosseum this evening, when the Roman Catholic position on the all-import-ant education question will be fully explained. Judging from the amount of correspondence received by the committee, great interest is being taken in this question, and all interested in educational matters are cordially invited to attend. Admission is free, and no collection will be taken up. The speakers include the Rev. Father Ainsworth (Napier), on "Catholic Disabilities in General" and "The Value of Agitation"; Mr D. L. Poppelwell (Gore), "Catholic Federation"; Mr H. F. Doogin (Greymouth), "Special Catholic Disabilities"; M. M. Doyle (Timaru), "Catholic Education." His Lordship Bishop Brodie will also address the meeting.. The pupils of the combined Catholic schools will render chorus items, with full orchestral accompaniment, during the evening. The doors will be open at 7 p.m., and those who intend being present will do well to attend early, in order to secure a good seat.
