A deputation from the Waterside Workers' Federation asked the Minister of Marine to hold a public inquiry concerning the bursting of the sulphuric acid drum on the Monowai at Auckland, by which a number of men were injured. The Minister said there was no provision in the Act for a public marine inquiry, but he would inquire if a Royal Commission could be appointed.
