SUMNER-REDCLIFFS.

The monthly meeting of the Sumner Bed Cross Committee was held on Monday afternoon, the Mayoress presiding over a good attendance. Subscriptions for the month, amounting to £l7 12/6, were handed in by Mesdames Smithson, and Marriner. The treasurer declared a balance of £9 2/5. The sum of £l2 was voted for the purchase of garments, and £l2 for bandage work. It was decided to hold a progressive euchre evening in aid of the funds on October 20 and 21. Mesdames Crawford and Black and Miss Benson were elected an Entertainment Committee to arrange details* The committee wish to acknowledge the receipt of subscriptions from the iollo'.ring:—Mesdames Chambers, U. The secretary (Mrs Black) reported having forwarded to the head centre the following articles for September:— 2 day shirts. 10 pyjamas. 12 kimoua bed jackets, IS undervests, 20 pairs socks, 7 pairs mittens, 1 balaclava, 3 pairs woollen shoos, :: pair< bed socks. Gifts in kind had also been received from Mea.lames Thorpe. Aitken. and Waller, and Miss Liddiard.
