NEW ZEALANDERS' SUCCESS. KILBOY'S POPULAR WIN. By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. (Received October 4, 12.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, October 4. The success of the New Zealand horses at Randwick did not come altogether as a surprise, and was well received. The "Daily Telegraph" says Kilboy won the Derby in the best or styles, -and bad none the best of luck. A hundred yards from home McLauchlan called upon his mount for a final effort. Kilboy drew out in a few strides. Eastcourt and Colbert responded, but Kilboy gradually increased the lead, and ran home a winner to the accompaniment of the heartiest applause, which was renewed as he returned to the paddock. Describing the Spring Stakes the "Telegraph" says:—"When Prince Bardolph retired Sasanof was left in front, with a length lead from Bee, and, though the latter came on bravely when the pressure was applied in the final stage, she was not able to wipe out all the deficit. The "Herald" describes Kilboy's victory as a fine finish and a handsome win. Bee fought out the finish or the Spring Stakes witli great determination, and was almost level with Sasanof at the half-dis-tance, the latter winning by a narrow margin. Cheloma ran well in the early stages of the Kensington Handicap, but only managed to secure fifth place. The prospects for to-morrow's meeting are gloomy. Torrential rain is again falling.
