WAIPARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The monthly meeting of the Waipara County Council was held on Saturday last. Present: Mr R. Evans (chairman). Crs Ceo. Rutherfor.l. \V. W. MeRae, If. 11. Holland, and N". 1». Campbell. The clerk's report stated that work hail lieen carried out on the Omihi Road, and that the teams were now em ployed on the Weka Pas*. During the moiith the Medbury approach to the Vaitohi bridge had been damaged by Hoods. It wa< decided to build two new bridges on Reece's Road, and to pro ceed with the first Greta bridge a? soon as possible. Correspondence was received from the Saleyards Company, stating that the directors, were conferring with the authorities controlling the North Road, with the intention of compelling stock to be driven on the ba.Jc roads to Belfast. -Mr C. O. T. Rutherford wrote regarding the state of The Teaks Road and the Pa.-k Track to the Lakes Country. It was resolved that the roads be attended to when possible. Mr A. Hyde, on behalf of the Stony hr.rst settlers, wrote, asking for the road to be formed to the new Hurunui bridge. It vra« resolved that when the bridge is finished, tenders be called for the work. It was rej'orted that the Hurunui bridge on the Cheviot road was getting out of repair. The clerk was instructed to notify the controlling body that the bridge needed attention. The clerk was instructed to enforce the motor drivers' by-law. and take proceedings airainst all persons driving motors without a certificate: also to take proceedings agnin«t all per-ous owning unregistered .logs on October 15. Accounts amounting to £ls-14 were passed for payment.
