ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
THE GLENTUNNEL FATALITY. An inquest was hold at Glentunnel yesterday touching the death of Raymond Alexander Silcock, the infant son of Mr F. A. Silcock, headmaster of the local school, who met his death by suffocation the previous day. Mr John Deans acted as Coroner. Mr and Mrs Silcock gave evidence as to finding the baby with the nipple of the feeding-bottle lodged in its throat, and said that resuscitative measures were carried out for three and a-half hours without avail. Dr Davenport deposed that death was due to suffocation. A verdict in accordance with the medical evidence was returned, no blame being attachable to anyone. FOUND DROWNED. The body of an elderly man was found in a creek near Chauey's Corner yesterday. It was in an advanced state of decomposition. The police were informed, and the Coroner, Mr T. A. B. Bailey, opened an inquest at the morgue this morning. The body has not yet been identified, and the inquest was adjourned until Wednesday next.
