VIOLET DAY.

PREPARATIONS IN HAND. The Violet Day Committee met in the Art Gallery yesterday, there being present: Mesdames A.Bovle, F. Courage, J. Deans, B. L. Lane, B. Seth-Smith, and P. C. Raphael," Misses M. Tabart, R, Tabart, and Messrs W. 11. Clark, G. L. Donaldson, and F. ('. Raphael. Miss Rose Tabart was elected chairwoman, Mr C. W. Reid horn, treasurer, and Mr G. L. Donaldson hon. secretary. It was resolved that Violet Day should be held on a date to be lixed later, somewhere about the end of August, and that the proceeds should be devoted to the poor of Belgium. The following subcommittees were set, up: —Costume and Badge Committee, Mesdames Seth-Smith and Raphael; Men's Committee, Messrs W. H. Clark, J. S. Barrett, & A. Orchard, and F. C. Raphael; Bunching Committee, Mesdames Deans, Courage, Palmer, and Raphael, Misses M. Tabart and A. Burns; Transport Committee, Mesdames Lane, Boyle, M. Cordey, and Messrs T. Cowlishaw and B. Seth-Smith; Beats Committee, Miss R. Tabart, Messrs Donaldson and R. Sellers. It was decided that each member of the committee should find 20 sellers, and that the headquarters for receiving and distributing violets should tie the Art Gallery.
