SHEARERS' WAGES.

APPLICATION FOR DOMINION AWARD. Press Association, WELLINGTON, May 9. Application was made by the Arbitration Court to-day to extend the Marlborough Shearers' and Woolshed Employees' award to the whole of the Dominion. The president of the court (Mr Justice Stringer) said that assuming the Court had such power, it was not prepared to exercise it in this case, but it would extend the award to the Sheepowners' Union, which consented. The Shearers' Union could cite other employers in the ordinary way. It was stated that the Sheepowners' Federation had circulated the conditions amongst its unions, and had asked that they be observed.
