OLD BOYS WIN.

HIGH SCHOOL OVERWEIGHTED. A game that was brisk in patches was played by Old Boys and Boys' High School, on the oval at Lancaster Park. Both teams showed some lack of practice, but played up well. Towards the end the greater weight of the Old Boys told its tale. Play started at a good pace. Old Boys were getting the ball in the scrums, but too often their halfback, Thompson, missed it when il came out. The school hooking improved, and the blue and black backs, tried passing rushes. However, the slowness and fumbling of some of the centre backs spoilt most of their efforts. Loose rushes by the school forwards kept Ihe white's defending for a time. A drop-kick at goal bv Woods, from ;> mark by the school half-back, sent the hall just under the cross-bar. An exchange of line kicks was followed by a passing rush by the school backs. The centre backs were again somewhat slow, and Buckhurst, on the wing, was collared in possession, in the whiles' twentyfive. However, Reay dribbled the ball on and scored a good try, which was not converted. Bovs' High School 3, Old Boys (I. Another attack by school, and poor work by the Old Boys' full-back, led to Old Boys forcing down. But obstruction by some of the Old Boys enabled school to clear its line with a free kick. Second Half. Early hi Ihe second, half a good run by Mehrtens, one of the School 'live-eighths, boded trouble for Old 'Boys.
