RANGIORA BRANCH. i ANNUAL MEETING. ! The'annual meeting of the Rangiora Farmers' Union was held in their room at Rangiora yesterday, the following members being present:—-Messrs C. Leech (president), Messrs J. W. Foster, W. J. Guy, T. Hughes, W. Stalker, J. Stevenson, and T. Leech, The president, said lie regretted the lack of interest taken by fanners in the union. Two meetings were called during the past year—the first to coileider the price of wheat. Such a crowd turned up that they were frightened the floor of the room would give way. At the second meeting, culled to make an organised effort to get gifts for the Poor of Great Britain and Belgium Fund, not one turned up. He strongly advocated united action l.y all farmers to kill these pest.s, and suggested that the farmers should have a ''Sparrow Day."
