THE LINCOLN BRANCH. i The anniuil meeting of the subscribers to the Lincoln Red Cross Branch was held in the Druids' Hall, Lincoln, on .May 4. Mr R. E. Alexander presided I over a'large attendance. | The report and balance-sheet, which disclosed a flourishing state of affairs, Iwore adopted. During the year £6BO |O/8 had been gathered by entertainments, donations, and monthly subscriptions. j Over 13,258 articles had been torwarded to the Red Cross depot, Christchurch, 167,'!-articles had been donated to the French Red Cross, and 7-tri |articles to the Liverpool depot. In addition, Ml Christmas boxes, valued at j£.l each, were dispatched to men from the district who were on active service, and £:j was voted to assist the New Zealand nurses saved from the Marique'tte. Other activities of the year j were reviewed in the report. j The chairman congratulated the ladies on their successful efforts.

The retiring officers and committee were re elected. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the chairman. Afternoon tea was provide.l bv the ladies.
