A SERIOUS POSITION.

There is a serious shortage of recruits for the Eleventh Reinforcements who are to go into camp this month. In Christehureh the position is that, with the quota to leave Christchurch for Trentliam on December 15, there is a shortage of 10 mounted men and 50 infantry. *?he other branches of the quota arc full. On Tuesday evening 54 men presented themselves for medical examination. Of these, 115 were passed as fit, 22 classified as temporarily unlit, and 17 were rejected as unfit. But only six of the 15 men who were passed as fit offered themselves for the Eleventh Reinforcement. The others do not want to leave Christehureh until January.
