A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

METHVEN,

~ The usual monthly meeting of the Mothveh' A. "and P. Association' was held in the secretary 's office on' Monday. The president'; (Mr 'Cliff)/ occupied the/ehairy and*there was an ance of 15 members.

Correspondence was received ffoni the Ashtmrton County Council, requesting the association to appoint -two."of its members to act oh the local Agricultural Committee. ' It' was resolved to hold this qyer'till next meeting." '■ The' secretary, was instructed to convey to Mr T. B. : Harrison the committee's sympathy in the loss he had sustained by the death of his mother.

The following sub-committees were elected in ; the different sections:— Draugli horse, Messrs Holland, McKendry," Buchan, Goodwin, and Campbell; light horse, Messrs Mangin, Comyns, Maginness, Twomey, "and McAnulty;' sheep, Messrs McDonald, Morgan,, Har;rison, Dohertyy. Green, and , McGirr; cattle, Messrsi'l>blierty, Miliar, McKay, and Gundry; dogs and pigs, Messrs Stewart, McKendry, and Morgan- pro: ■'due'e, Messrs "Smith, Guff, Green, Holland, Morgan, McKay, and Carr; ground and 'implements;' Messrs, McDonald, 'Smith,' Buchan, McKendry, Mangin, Twomey, Morgan, McAnulty, McGirr, and cuff; competitions, Messrs•»Gundry, Green, Morgan, Cuff, arid Smith; reception, Messrs McDonald, McKendry, president, and vice-president; Press, Messrs Carr, Cuff, and Stewart; space, Messrs Green and Percy; catalogue, Messrs Smith, Green, Cuff, and tho secretary; needlework and -miscellaneous, Mesdames Morgan,, Cuff, Smith, .Mangin, Orr, McGirr, and McKay; The .following special prizes-were received, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the donors:—Loan and Mercantile £3 3/-, H. Maginness £2 2/-, Dennis McKendry £2 2/-, E. Storey 10/6. 'Messrs G. L.. Nell, J. Lawlor, and A. W. Painter were elected members of the association. Accounts -were passed for payment. "•'' .
