Arrived—Activ, Norwegian barque (2 a.m.), from Surprise Island; Norman Monarch (8.30 a.m.), from New York. ' NOTES. The Union Company's Kauri arrived In the stream last night from Newcastle with a full cargo of coal. The vessel left the New South Wales port on Wednesday last j at 5 p.m., and when clear of the land a ! hard gale-from the north-wesf, accompanied by a very heavy swell, was met with, during which time the vessel shipped a lot of heavy water. These conditions continued to Cape Campbell, which was passed at 2.20 yesterday morning, and then a southerly breeze made its appearance, continuing right up to arrival. The vessel will complete discharge here, and will sail about Tuesday next for Timaru. The arrival at London of the liner Indrabarali on Sunday last is announced by cable. The vessel left Wellington on July 19.
