FIRES.
BLAZE AT RANGIORA.
Shortly after 10.30 o'clock last evening a fire occurred in Tyler's stables at therear of Leech's buildings, High Street, Rangiora. The stable affected fronted on Alfred
Street and consisted of three loose
stalls and a loft. The fire apparently started in the loft, and, burning fiercely, almost completely destroyed the building. Fortunately there were no horses in the stable at the time, and three horses in the adjoining stable escaped uninjured. The building, which was owned by Mr Leech was insured in the Queensland Office for £35, but the loss will be considerably over this amount. \FIRES IN THE CITY. The building is insured for £SOO in the National Insurance and the contents for £IOO in the Phoenix Office. At 12.45 this morning the brigade turned out to a property on the corner of Barrington and Huslcy Streets.- A macrocarpa hedge was on fire and was totally destroyed. No other damage was done.
