AMALGAMATED SOCIETY OF CARPENTERS AND JOINERS.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners was held 011 Monday, 1 ' Bro. T. Ford presiding. An application for superannuation benefit was received from a member and endorsed by the branch, same to be forwarded to the Executive Council. .A reply was received from the executive to an'application for the accident benefit of £IOO, stating that the application was not in conformity with the rules. - Miss Rout wrote asking for a donation towards the upkeep 0$ the Volunteer Sistei*s of New Zealand. It was resolved to donate the sum .of £2 2/from the local fund. An invitation was received from the Sydenham branch for members to attend the next meeting, of that' branch on Monday, August 9, tohear an address by. Bro. itilworth on concrete wqrk. The secretary stated that ft£r Bowing, of the Technical College, would give an address on 'the Steel Square on Monday, September 13. A vote of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr Alexander was passed. Two new members were admitted into the branch.
