RED CROSS.

RANGIORA BRANCH. A meeting of the executive of the j Red Cross Branch at Rangiora was held last night. The report of the president (Mrs W. E. Barton') was as follows: There has been a considerable amount of energy displayed in Red Cross work for the first month since the' branch was formed, and very liberal contributions of old linen, old blankets, etc., etc., have been sent in, for which the Executive Committee wishes to express its thanks. Special gifts have been received from:—Mrs Nutting, I.Balaclava, 1 pair sox.; Mrs Hessell, 2 pairs bath towels; Mrs K. Johnston, lib wool; Mrs Rowse, 2 Balaclavas, 2 bed sox; St. John Association, 12 veils, 6 bed slippers, 2 bed jackets, 2 bottle covers, 16 handkerchiefs, 14 face-cloths. It is the intention of the committee to forward this week to ..the' Christchurch depot the following articles from the bandage department:—loo fomentations, 100 surgical veils, 100 triangular bandages, 100 medicine cloths, 100 operation cloths,-100 toilet squares, 100 tray cloths, 100 swabs, 100 binders, 100 wringers, 100 bottle covers, 79 manitail bandages, 400 roller bandages. From the depot:—4l undershirts, 12 suits pyjamas, 7 underpants, 6 dressing gowns, 5 nightshirts, 5 sun coats, 7 bed jackets, 19 shirts, 3 Balaclavas, 4 bed sox, 1 pair sox, 2 pairs bed slippers.
