RUGBY MATTERS.

THE CANTERBURY UNION. A meeting of the<rfManaging Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union was held last evening. Present: —Messrs F. T. Evans (in the chair), F. K. Baker, C. Buchanan, S. F. Wilson, A. M'Phail, A. E. Byrne, E. E. Crawshaw, C. C. Hasell, F. D. Kesteven, L. Corbett/ Lists of players who % had gone over to the League code were received from the various clubs. They will be sent on to the New Zealand Rugby Union. The North Canterbury Club (Rangiora) notified the committee that Mr G. S. Matthews had been appointed the club's delegate to the union. A notification was received from the Richmond Domain Board that the board had accepted the Canterbury Football Association's offer for the use of Richmond Park, and the«union's application had therefore been declined. "With regard" to four players who had taken part in Northern Union football, and concerning whom the C.R.U. had recommended the removal of their disqualifications, the committee was informed that tfie New Zealand Rugby Union's Managing Committee was making further enquiries. Consideration of a request that the Canterbury junior representative team should play a match at Oamaru on its way to Dunedin this season was deferred until arrangements vfor representative matches are made. The committee decided to send two delegates—Messrs G. H. Mason arid F. T. Evans—to represent it at the annual meeting of the council of the New Zealand Rugby Union, to be held in Wellington on May 14.
