OBITUARY.
MR ALBERT TREVOR SINCLAIR.
The death is announced of Mr Albert Trevor Sinclair, who left South Canterbury to go to Queensland about 18 months ago. The late Mr Sinclair was the eldest son of the late Mr J. J. Sinclair, of Christchurch. His mother is living at Sumner. The deceased was educated at Nelson College, where he did well in athletics and at school, matriculating in 1905. For some years he studied at Canterbury College, with a view to .adopting law as his profession. Later he abandoned this and went farming near Timaru. Mr Sinclair represented Canterbury College in football, and played also for the Christchurch Football Club. He was also a strong runner and a good swimmer, who specialised in diving. At one time he was well known here as a motorist. At the time of his death, which followed typhoid fever, Mr Sinclair was about 29 years of age.
MRS MART ANN OATS. The death is announced, at Perdeen, of Mrs Mary Ann Oats, widow of the late Mr Thomas Oats, a well-known farmer in Canterbury in the early days. Mrs Oats was 84 years of age at the time of her death.
