LYTTELTON DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.
• The Lyttelton District High School teld their monthly meeting on Monday. Present: —Messrs E. E. Curtis (chairman), C. E. Curtis, J. Pitcathley, W. G. Carson, W. Brown, W. J. Lester, S. W. Mitchell, and W. 6. C. Taylor. The headmaster's report showed the daily average attendance had been '487, and the number on the roll 518, including 23 in the secondary department. The attendance since Christmas holidays has been good, also that the long overdue probationer had not arrived yet. A rough balance-sheet of 'the school .concert and picnic shows very satisfactory results. The headmaster and staff were thanked for their excellent work in carrying lout the two functions. The school 'balance-sheet for the year ending February 28 was left over till next "meeting, as the books had not yet been returned by the board. Inspectors jßrock and Hardie paid a visit of inspection to the school on March 16. The visiting comxAittee for the-month are Messrs C. E. Curtis and S. W. Mitchell. Accounts for 26/7 were passed for payment.
