Combined Chemists’ Annual Ball

Dixieland is Thronged With Dancers POPULAR FUNCTION Auckland chemists and their friends thronged Dixieland Cabaret last evening to participate in the fun at the combined chemists’ annual ball. Flowers and fern decorated the cabaret and the whole scene was one of colour and vivacity. Mr. Harry Neilson and the Dixieland Band put plenty of “pep” into their danco tunes and the host of dancers were very enthusiastic in their repealed demands for encores. CHAPERONES AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT Dr. Horsley was wearing a gown of black georgette with black embroidered Spanish wrap. Mrs W. H. McKinney’s gown of black georgette was relieved with rhinestones. A smart gown of black georgette and ,iace was worn by Mrs. Lovegrove. Mrs. H. T. King’s gown was of lacquer red chenille embossed georgette. Mrs. T. W. Irwin wore a peacock blue gown of ring velvet. Mrs. J. A. Eccles had on deep capucino satin beaute and tulle. Miss Kathleen Dowling’s frock was of primrose laco with bouffant skirt of tulle. Miss R. McMullen was frocked in cornflower blue georgette. Miss M. Rose was wearing a gown of foxglove pink georgette. Gribbin was in a tucked frock of ivory georgette and lace. Airs. X. A. Fraser was gowned in black lace, relieved with, rose and gold. Mrs. Gadd was in leaf green crepe de chine, relieved with gold. Airs. Cotterall’s gown was of sunset pink satin beaute. Airs, de Luen wore orchid pink georgette, with brilliants. Airs. Malcolm Stewart’s gown was of blue and silver brocade. Airs. J. Guthrio was in orchid satin and deep cream lace. Mrs. A. Townsend had on rose pink ring velvet. A gown of black gcorgetto, with silver beaded embroideries, was worn by Airs. Sharpies. Airs. J. P. "Walker had on black crepe do soie, with silver beaded embroideries. Mrs. L. Day wore a gown of ivory satin beaute and lace. Mrs. Alonks had chosen a gown of flame chenille embossed georgette. Airs. Waterhouse had on a del blue taffeta gown. Mrs. R. C. Renner wore a black crepe do sdie gown. Mrs. Osborne Owen was gowned in rose pink satin. Airs. AI. Bridgens wore cameo pink georgette and gold metal lace. A corsage spray of blue flowers relieved Miss Kitty Horsley’s frock of sea foam green faille. Alias Molly Mitchelson was in a flounced frock of citronne moire. A pretty frock of forget-me-not blue beaded georgette was worn by Aliss Lorna AlcGruer. Miss Joyce Colwill’s smart frock was flowered chiffon and lace. Miss Bettie Colwill had on an attractive frock of cameo pink flounced taffeta.

Aliss Olive Bickerton wore a pretty frock of pompadour pink georgette and lace. Aliss Pat Adeane was in blue and amethyst gros grain faille. Aliss Althea Collings wore a sunset coloured chiffon velvet frock. Aliss Fay Brooking had on a greep sequined net frock, with cherry hip bow.
