HAPPY ENDING
HUSBAND AND WIFE RECONCILED DIVORCE CASE WITHDRAWN Prom Our- Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Wednesday. There was a happy endifcg to a divorce case which started In the Supreme Court today, the- parties effecting a reconciliation alter they had had lunch together. The petitioner was William Morton Creighton, motor mechanic, Hastings (Mr. N. S. Johnson), and the respondent was Mary Creighton (Mr. J. F. Strang). Mr. Johnson said tho parties were married in 1906, and lived happily together for 19 years. They occupied a faint near Otorolianga. In September, 1925, Mrs. Creighton left her home with the one child of the marriage, and although petitioner had sent respondent money for the maintenance of the child, he had not received any communication from her, and had not seen her until that day. The court then adjourned, and after lunch Mr. Strang explained that the parties had had lunch together, and the petitioner wished to withdraw his petition. He admitted that any suspicious he had had regarding his wife's conduct were quite unfounded. Mr. Johnson said on behalf of petitioner he had great pleasure in asking for the withdrawal of the case. His Honour said the circumstances were indeed unusual. He was very happy to know that the parties had come to an agreement. He was pleased to give leave to have the petition withdrawn.
