MAILS ARE LIGHTER
QUIET PERIOD AT G.P.O. One o£ those rare periods of small mails and comparative quiet is being enjoyed this week by the mail-room staff at the chief post office. There were 113 bags of ordinary mail from Australia and the East on the Ulimaroa this morning and 78 bags of parcels. The only other overseas mail expected this week is a small consignment of eight bags of Australian mail on the Kaponga, which is due from Melbourne on Thursday.
