“THE CUCKOOS” AT PLAZA

A really good talkie in which songs and settings mingle delightfully for everyone’s amusement, is ‘The Cuckoos,” for the delectation of pkturegoers at the Plaza Theatre this week.

The film is not a revue, nor is it 3 musical comedy, though it contains the elements of both, but it certainly offers a distinct departure from the usual type of picture. There is no theme song; rather there are abon: five numbers that merit being theme songs, but each is heard just enough to make it interesting, and then on to something new and equally delightful. But comedy is the keynote; not the conventional kind of comedy, but mad, irresponsible foolery that pro* duces roar after roar of laughter. Robert Woolsey and Bert Wheeler, the comedians of “Rio Rita,” are the cheerful lunatics responsible.
