ANNUAL PUKEKOHE FIXTURE ' Special to THE SUN’ PUKEKOHE, Monday. Vendors were well satisfied with the prices realised at the Franklin*Jersey Breeders’ Club’s annual sale of pedigree bulls, which commenced at Pukekohe today. Eighty-nine bulls were offered today and 84 changed hands. The top price was 47gns., paid by I. Motion, of Pukekohe, for the yearling bull, Brookfield’s I Historic, bred by AV. Craig, of AVaiuku. j who also secured 46gns. each for two I other yearling bulls. Brooklields Hunt- « ins Day and Brookfields Gay Laddie. T.he highest price for a two-year-old bull was 44gns., paid by J. Craw- j ford, of Waiuku, for Silverhope Ponga. a bull bred by J. Fulton, of Tuakau. j There were very few mature bulls in the sale, and the best price paid was 36gns. for the four-year-old bull Silverhope Walter, sold by W r . Fallows, of Puni, and bred by J. Fulton. Prices j generally ranged from lOgns. to 40gns. The average price for the 84 bulls was approximately 22gns. The auctioneers, Dalgety and Company., the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Ltd., and the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Com- | pany, Ltd., report that 121 bulls were offered. Tho bulls were generally of outstanding quality and had butter-fat backing. Well-sustained bidding resulted. the top auction price of 38gns. being paid by E. Sullivan and Sons, Edgecumbe, for a yearling bull, Craigavon Peter, owned by R. Fleming. Waimana. A yearling bull,. Raupo Chum, offered on account of Boon Brothers, Whakatane, was sold for 28gns. to MacDonald, of Awakeri, and another' yearling bull from the same owner, I Raupo Hero, was sold to 11.
