RAIN STILL HOLDS OFF
POWER SHORTAGE WORSE IN CANTERBURY CHRISTCHURCH IN DARKNESS CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. Although there Is every indication o£ a north-west storm, and a light north-west wind is blowing at Lake Coleridge, there has been no rain this afternoon to relieve the position at the Lake Coleridge hydro-electric works. The city was in almost total darkness last night. All the suburban streets were without lights and in the centre of the city there were very few lights burning. Voluntary restrictions on the load have achieved considerable economies ancl more than the authorities expected.
