HONORARY RANGER WARNS POACHING PARTY SOCIETY ANNOYED Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. A curious action on the part of an honorary ranger of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society was reported to the executive at a recent meeting. A member said he had had word that a party was about to make a “spotlight.’” raid on hares on one of the main roads. He telephoned to the society’s permanent ranger, but an honorary ranger had let the party know’ that the ranger had been informed of the proposed raid. Other members thought it time the warrants of the honorary rangers were revised. The secretary said there were about 130 on the list, but that only about five were good men. He agreed to take steps to revise the list.
