PRESBYTERY MEETS
WELCOME TO SECRETARY The newly-appointed travelling secretary of the Presbyterian Young Women’s Bible Class Union, Miss L. Buchanan, who is paying her first visit to the district, was welcomed by the Moderator, the Rev. M. Richards, at a meeting of the Auckland Presbytery last evening. A letter was received from the Rev. Edward Drake, president of the Council of Christian Congregations, on behalf of the Cancer Research Campaign Committee, asking that the "Objects of the campaign should be considered'and urging its claims on the church’s support. It was pointed out that ministers were already helping individually regarding the campaign, and no action j was taken by the Presbytery. The Council of Christian Congrega- : tions further asked that the church I give help regarding n statement of the ! view shared by tho Protestant churches on the question of Sundav observance. Representatives of all creeds will meet and consider the question. The Presbytery appointed as delegates the Revs. J. A. Thomson and E. It. Harries. The Rev. W. Lawson Marsh will convene the committee.
