FISHING BOAT SHELLED
SOVIET GUNBOAT REPULSED BY COUNTER-FIRE SITUATION GROWS SERIOUS Reed. 9.50 a.m. TOKYO, Tuesday. The friction on the Kamchatka fisheries continues, and the situation is growing more serious. A Japanese steamer reports that it was attacked on July 31 by a Russian gunboat. Four shells penetrated the hull. The fishing boat, having been recently armed, replied with gunfire, repulsing its assailant.
