SHOCK TO REBELS

FIERCE FIGHT WITH TROOPS IN AFGHANISTAN HUNDRED KILLED DELHI, Wednesday A large force of Kohidaman rebels which was marching on Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, encountered a body of Afghan troops at Muraheg Fort, 30 miles from the city, and a fierce battle ensued. The tribesmen were routed, 100 being killed and 3,000 captured. The prisoners were taken handcuffed to Kabul. Apparently the rebels had depended for success upon the indifferent attitude of the Afghan troops, who have not been paid for three months. Airmen later bombed and destroyed the four principal rebel villages.
