Football Test The Auckland Hockey Association has decided to postpone all hockey on Saturday, July 26, the date of the third football test, Britain v. New Zealand. Contrary to general expectations, however, the association has decided to play all games on July 19, the day of the Britain v. Auckland game. The reason is that the association is short of time and must be out of the Remuera grounds by the end of September. Auckland v. Waikato The Auckland v. Waikato representative match will be played at Auckland either on August 2 or August 9, according to the date of the challenge shield match in which Auckland takes part. Country Week A dance will be hold in Scots Hall on Thursday, July 17, for the entertainment of Country Week players. The executive would like to see more local players in attendance than has been apparent in former years. The annual smoke concert will be held in the Foresters’ Hall, Albert Street, on Friday, July IS. Tickets for both functions may be obtained from members of both the men’s and the women’s executives. erne Regradings The A.H.A. has approved the following regradings of players: Wilmott (University, seniors to Whippets), Kerr and Lusby (Papatoetoe, seconds to fourths). * * * Referees Succeed Messrs. A. Williams and *E. J. Hewitt have been granted passes by the New Zealand Referees’ Association, the highest award that a referee can obtain. They were examined on Saturday by the association's examiners, Messrs. L. H. Norton (Auckland) and IT. Hatcli (Wellington), and were subject to a rigorous test. Their success will be popular as both men have earned the confidence of players. White Horse Cup Considerable Interest, both locally and in the province, is being shown in the White Horse Cup tournament, which begins at Remuera on Monday. All the strong country teams will be represented again. The number of competing sides will be one short of last year’s total, Whakatane not coming this year. Tauranga has been unable to visit either last year or this.
