At the invitation of the Mayor, Mr. l-\ A. Jones, local clergymen met recently at the Municipal Buildings to forward the movement. It was decided that the clergymen present should make an appeal to their respective congregations for assistance, and that the Mayor should be asked to present a public appeal in order to effect co-operation with the efforts of the church communities.
