CHORAL SERVICE AT TE AWAMUTU

| BRIDE HAS LOVELY HONITON LACE VEIL GRIGG— BOURNE A wedding which, created local interest took place recently at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Te Awamutu, when Grace Isabella, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Bourne, of Oiiaupo Road, was married to Raymond Edwin, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Grigg, Kahurangi, Ohaupo Road. The Rev. W. Butterworth officiated. The service was fully choral and Mrs. F. Gibson presided at the organ. The church had been decorated by friends of the bride, and over the bridal party was suspended a wedding bell. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming anklelength frock of ivory embossed georgette and mariette, relieved with &iamente trimming. The beautiful veil of net and Honiton lace which was arranged on the head in the form of a cap, fell in long, soft folds over the frock, and she carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums, jonquils and maidenhair fern. In attendance were Miss Hilda Bourne, sister of the bride, and Miss Muriel Thompson, cousin of the bride, who wore ankle-length frocks of briar rose and eau de nil mariette respectively, relieved with silver lace and hand-made roses with centres of crystal beads. Miss Bourne carried a bouquet of anemones, carnations and maidenhair fern, and Miss Thompi son s bouquet was of chrysanthemums ! an <3 autumn leaves. The two small ; flower girls Alma Miers, niece of the • Parnela Craig, were dressed m frilled mariette frocks in eau de ml and briar rose respectively with caps to match. They carried baskets of flowers to tone. The bridegroom was attended by his two brothers, Mr. Harold Grigg as best man and Air. Eric Grigg as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at St. Andrew's Hall, where Airs. Bojirne received her guests in a frock of navy wool crepe de chine, trimmed with navy satin, with fox fur and hat to tone. She carried a posy of roses sweet peas and asparagus fern. Airs. Grigg, mother of the bridegroom, wore a bottle-green ring vcl- i vet f r °ek with cloth coat and furs and small close-fitting velour hat to match, and she carried a posy of pink and gold chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. The bride’s travelling dress was of navy crepe de chine, with navy coat j and hat to tone, and fox furs.
