EVOLUTION OF UNIVERSE

“Is the universe, including man, evolved by atomic force?” was the subject of the lesson-sermon in First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Auckland, yesterday. The golden text was from Psalms civ., 24, 31, “O Lord, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom hast thou made them all; the earth is full of thy riches. The glory of the Lord shall endure for ever; the Lord shall rejoice iu his works.” Among the citations was the following from the Bible: “For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens: God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited; I am the Lord, and there is n6ne else.” The lesson-sermon also included the following passage from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health, with Key to the Scriptures”: Science reveals only one Mind, and this one shining by its own light and governing the universe, including man. in perfect harmony . . . Thus God’s Ideas multiply and replenish the earth. The Divine Mind supports the sublimity, magnitude, and infinitude of spiritual creation.”
