SCARLET FEVER STILL PREVALENT

Scarlet fever still heads the list of cases of infectious diseases in the Auckland Health district, according to the figures for this month. To date, 59 cases of this malady have been reported. Diphtheria sufferers numbered 40, and pneumonia 16, which is a slight advance on April’s figures. In May, 1929, the cases were: Scarlet fever 59. pneumonia 17, diphtheria 48. The district is very free of influenza, only two cases being reported this month, compared with 12 during May last year.
