ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD

CARLTON’S YEAR The annual meeting of the Carlton Croquet Club was held at the pavilion, Manukau Road. The president, Mrs. Hamilton, presided over a large gathering of members. Trophies for competition were presented by Mesdames Hamilton. Perry. Shields, .Laurie, Cottrell, Syers, Dukes, Andrews and Miss Keailey. The prize winners for the season were as follow: —A championship, Miss Keatley; B championship, Mrs. Shields, who won Mrs. Tutt's silver cup; president’s handicap singles, Mrs. Clarkson, who will hold Mrs. E. H Cucksey’s cup for the year; A handicap doubles. Mesdames Davy and Schubert; B handicap doubles, Misses Shroff and Shaw. In the Auckland Associations’ inter-club competition, the club finished third, being only 34 points behind the winning club and in the A and B grades Carlton members were also well to the fore. Miss Keatley won the A grade and Miss Baker the B grade in the Dominion Croquet Council’s silver button competition. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President. Mrs. Hamilton; vice-presidents. Mrs. C. Cucksey, Mrs. Dukes, Mrs. E. Cuclcsey, Mrs. Tutt and Mrs. Cottrell; secretary, Mrs. W. Perry; assistant secretary. Mrs. W. Andrews; treasurer. Mrs. T. Wilson; honorary auditor, Mr. W. Perry; general committee. Mesdames Syers, Sykes, Baker and Miss Keatley; match committee, Mesdames Davy, Cottrell and Clarkson; green committee, Mrs. Laurie, Messrs. Hamilton and Earl; delegates to Auckland Croquet Association. Mrs. W. Perry. Mrs. Hamilton and Mrs. Davy; social committee, Mesdames Tutt, Dukes. Syers, Cornes. Ormiston and Misses Shaw and Shroff. A special vote of thanks for his services as auditor to the club was accorded to Mr. W. Perry, a similar compliment being paid to Mr. Hamilton for services to the club. Life membership was conferred upon Mr. R. S. Lawrence in recognition of his valuable services to the club. HILLSBOROUGH CLUB The annual meeting of the .Hillsborough Croquet Club was held in the club’s pavilion on Thursday. Mrs. Thompson presided. Tlio report and balance sheet showed that the past season had been very successful, and that the financial position of the club was satisfactory'. The club competitions played during the season were won as follow: Championship singles. Mrs. Thompson; handicap singles, Mrs. Clarke*, champion pj irs, Mrs. Lynn and Mrs. Stringer; handicap pairs. Mrs. Lynn and Mrs. E. Pollard. Mrs. Stringer was presented by the members of the club with a supper set as a mark of appreciation of her work as secretary*. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs. Thompson; vice-presi-dents. Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Clarke; secretary, Mrs. Stringer; treasurer, Mrs. Lynn; committee, Mesdames Ward, Buckle, Pegler and Bischoff; match committee, Mesdames Lynn, Thompson and Buckle; green superintendent, Mr. Stringer; auditor, Mr. F.
